Just a bit of a catch up blog as I'm a bit behind already. But here are a couple of cards I made last week for a friend of mine. A birthday card for my friend's Mum and a Father's Day card for her Dad. This is the first time I've done cards like this, but I'm really pleased with how they turned out. All feedback welcome.

Thanks for reading, back soon.

Sunday 10 June 2012

Just wanted to share with you the first card I've made to order. A lady from chapel wanted a card for a friend with a flower theme and congratulations on so here it is. She seemed really pleased with it when she looked at it this morning so I'm a happy bunny. I've also been asked to have a stall at the chapel for christmas with my cards etc too so I'm really pleased about that. Productive morning all round I'd say.

Thanks for reading.

The Queen's Jubilee

Hi Everyone, well last night I decided to make a couple of Jubilee cards. But I was enjoying making the cards so much that I ended up making 5 altogether. Hopefully they are an improvement on my first cards, but I'm guessing they must be as they all sold very quickly which I'm thrilled with. And it's a great start for the charity that all my proceeds from sales is going to. Things are looking up in other aspects of the charity too, but more of that another day.

For now here are the Jubilee cards I made and sold today. All feedback is most welcome.

Newbie here

Hi everyone and welcome to the first post in my new crafting blog. Having only been making a few bits here and there since the beginning of April, I want to start by catching up a bit and sharing photos of my first makes which are mainly cards and a keyring.

So far I'm really enjoying crafting, but there are so many different things out there that I would like to have a go at. Being new to it all, I suppose that everyone goes through that phase when starting out. The incentive for me starting to make craft items, was that I am starting up a new charity called Friends of Ichthyosis. I wanted to find a way of setting up a group for families affected by the rare genetic skin disorder Ichthyosis. The group will organise outings and various social events for families affected by the condition, and we will be raising as much awareness of the condition and the group as possible. In order to get the group off the ground we need funds, and although I've always had an interest in crafts and arts I've never really had the confidence to 'have a go' myself as it were, and so thought this was a great opportunity to start. Hopefully my creations will be good enough for people to want to buy, as all proceeds from my sales will go directly to Friends of Ichthyosis to help achieve their goals and continue thier work supporting families. I will have a seperate page on my blog with more about Ichthyosis but feel free to visit the website too at the link above.

For now here are a few of my makes so far.
